Grodzins Prize Lecturer, PLSC 20927: Individuals, Communities, and Conflict
Spring 2022
In June 2021, I was awarded a Grodzins Prize Lectureship to teach a course of my own design during the 2021-2022 school year. My undergraduate seminar course was offered during Spring Quarter 2022, and was called Individuals, Communities, and Conflict: The Microfoundations of Political Violence. It introduced students to a side of political violence research that is not frequently addressed in-depth in large survey courses, with a particular focus on qualitative research, research ethics, and the psychological impact of taking on this type of academic work. It was intended to help prepare students to write BA theses on political violence. You can find my syllabus here.
